Build.exe 2026 Hackathon
By registering for and participating in Build.exe 2026, all participants agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. These terms are intended to ensure fairness, transparency, safety, and a professional environment for all participants.
1. Eligibility and Participation
1.1 Participation is open to currently enrolled undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognized colleges or universities, including BTech, MTech, BCA, MCA, and related programs.
1.2 Participants must register using accurate and verifiable personal and academic information. Any false or misleading information may result in disqualification.
1.3 Each team must consist of exactly four members. Teams may include participants from different institutions.
1.4 The organizing committee reserves the right to verify participant eligibility at any stage of the event.
2. Registration and Event Phases
2.1 Build.exe 2026 is conducted in two phases:
Phase 1: Online Ideation
Phase 2: Offline 24-hour Hackathon
2.2 Participation in Phase 1 is completely free of cost.
2.3 Only teams shortlisted from Phase 1 are eligible to participate in Phase 2.
2.4 A one-time onboarding fee of ₹500 per team is required for Phase 2 participation. This fee is applicable only to shortlisted teams.
3. Use of Fees
3.1 The Phase 2 onboarding fee is collected solely to support operational and participant-related expenses, including but not limited to food, refreshments, infrastructure usage, and event logistics.
3.2 The organizing team does not derive any commercial profit from the collected fee.
3.3 The event is not financially sponsored by GDG, Google, or any affiliated organization.
4. Refund and Cancellation Policy
4.1 The Phase 2 onboarding fee is non-refundable once payment is confirmed.
4.2 If a shortlisted team is unable to participate in Phase 2, they must inform the organizers at the earliest possible time.
4.3 The organizing committee reserves the right to allocate the vacated slot to a waitlisted team.
5. Code of Conduct
5.1 All participants are expected to maintain respectful, professional, and ethical behavior throughout the event.
5.2 Any form of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or misconduct will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the event.
5.3 Participants must follow instructions given by organizers, faculty mentors, and volunteers at all times.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
6.1 All intellectual property rights related to the projects developed during the hackathon remain with the respective teams.
6.2 Participants grant the organizers permission to showcase project titles, abstracts, screenshots, and demo videos for promotional or academic purposes, with proper attribution.
6.3 Organizers will not commercially exploit any participant project without explicit written consent from the team.
7. Plagiarism and Originality
7.1 All submissions must be original work created during the hackathon period.
7.2 Use of external libraries, APIs, and open-source tools is permitted, provided they are properly acknowledged.
7.3 Any form of plagiarism, including reuse of existing projects without disclosure, will result in immediate disqualification.
8. Evaluation and Judging
8.1 All decisions made by judges and evaluators are final and binding.
8.2 Evaluation will be based on predefined criteria including problem understanding, innovation, technical execution, feasibility, and presentation quality.
8.3 The organizing committee reserves the right to modify evaluation criteria if required, with prior communication.
9. Safety, Security, and Liability
9.1 Participants are responsible for their personal belongings. The organizers are not liable for loss or damage of personal items.
9.2 Basic first-aid facilities will be available during the offline hackathon. Participants with medical conditions should inform organizers in advance.
9.3 The organizers and host institution shall not be held responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation, except in cases of proven negligence.
10. Use of Media and Publicity
10.1 Participants consent to being photographed or recorded during the event.
10.2 Such media may be used for event documentation, reporting, or promotional purposes by the organizers or the host institution.
10.3 Participants who do not wish to appear in promotional material must inform the organizers in writing prior to the event.
11. Disqualification Rights
11.1 The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify any participant or team for violation of these terms and conditions.
11.2 Disqualification decisions are final and will not be subject to appeal.
12. Event Modifications and Force Majeure
12.1 The organizers reserve the right to modify the event schedule, format, or venue if required due to unforeseen circumstances.
12.2 In the event of cancellation due to reasons beyond control, the organizers will communicate necessary updates through official channels.
13. Acceptance of Terms
13.1 By registering for Build.exe 2026, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
13.2 Participation in any phase of the hackathon implies full acceptance of these terms.
